Louisville takes on Loyola Chicago

The Louisville Lady Cards are off to a fast start in preseason play after sounding defeating Loyola University Chicago 101-54 at the KFC Yum Center in downtown Louisville. The Cards were paced by Bria Smith who lead with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Tia Gibbs added in 13 points, 12 for Asia Taylor, while Sara Hammond and Jude Schimmel each tossed in 11 points. The Lady Cardinals dominated the boards grabbing 68 rebounds to only 33 for Loyola Chicago. Though the Lady Cards blew out the visiting Ramblers, shooting 46 percent from the field, connecting on 9-17 three pointers but only hit 18-34 from the free throw line which later in the press conference Coach Jeff Walz said they definitely needed to improve on.

The Ramblers were lead by Taylor Johnson who scored 18 though she shot only 5-15 but hit 7-9 from the line. Katie Faught also played well for Loyola Chicago contributing 11 points on 3-6 shooting from beyond the arc
