INDIANAPOLIS – The Bellarmine University men’s tennis team has been predicted to finish fifth in the East Division of the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

In the league’s preseason coaches’ poll, the Knights received 38 points. Indianapolis (83 points), the defending champion of the East and the GLVC Tournament runner-up, is predicted to win the division and garnered 11 of a possible 12 first-place votes – coaches are prohibited from voting for their own team.
Southern Indiana (69, two top votes) is tabbed to finish second in the East followed by Lewis (third, 65), McKendree (fourth, 42), Bellarmine, Illinois Springfield (sixth, 33) and Saint Joseph’s (seventh, 27). USI, Lewis and McKendree joined UIndy from the East in last year’s GLVC Tournament.
The defending GLVC West and GLVC Tournament champion, Drury (72) is the overwhelming favorite to win its division, claiming all 12 possible first-place votes.
