UK Track & Field Picks up Multiple Academic Awards for 2015-16 Season

The Kentucky track and field program picked up plenty of academic honors as the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced its All-Academicteams and individual honorees on Thursday.
Both Kentucky’s men’s and women’s teams earned All-Academic Team honors as both of Kentucky’s squads had better than a 3.00 cumulative team grade point average this season. There were 122 men’s teams and 220 women’s teams that were named All-Academic by the Association.
Eight women and five men from Kentucky earned All-Academic individual honorees. Kentucky’s honorees are listed below.
A total of 910 women from 192 institutions earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors during the 2015-16 track & field season.
 
A total of 570 men from 161 institutions earned All-Academic honors during the season.
 
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track & Field Team, the student must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have met at least one of the following athletic standards:
 
For the indoor season, a student must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org.
 
For the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
