The Kentucky swimming and diving program will head to Columbus, Ohio, this weekend to compete against some top talent from around the country in the three-day Ohio State Invitational, November 17-19.
The meet will follow a traditional invitational timeline, with preliminary events beginning at 9 a.m. ET each day and finals sessions beginning at 6 p.m. inside the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.
“We’re really excited about this weekend’s meet,” said head coach Lars Jorgensen. “We’re focusing on finishing the semester on a great note in a format that’s conducive for us to prepare well for the postseason. The team is really excited about going there and swimming against some great competition from around the country.”
In addition to host team Ohio State, the Wildcats will take on both the men’s and women’s teams from NC State, Notre Dame, West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Yale, Penn State and Kenyon. The women’s team will also face off against Florida Gulf Coast, Marshall and Washington State.
The No. 17 Kentucky women’s team will compete against three additional ranked foes in No. 8 NC State, No. 19 Ohio State and No. 25 Notre Dame. The UK men, who are receiving votes in the latest CSCAA poll, will take on three ranked teams in No. 5 NC State, No. 17 Notre Dame and No. 14 Ohio State.

Freshman Bailey Bonnett also swept the breaststroke events in the meet with two NCAA ‘B’ cuts to earn SEC Freshman of the Week honors on Nov. 17.
Sophomore Glen Brown stood out for the men’s team, picking up wins in the 200 IM, 100 breast, 200 breast and 400 IM.
