Kentucky WTEN Hosts No. 16 Baylor Sunday

The Kentucky women’s tennis team will face its second top-25 opponent in a row on Sunday, bringing 16th-ranked Baylor (2-1) into the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center at 10 a.m. ET.

Both teams are looking to bounce back from losses as the Wildcats most recently fell to No. 22 Ohio State 4-1 on Wednesday, and the Bears were defeated 6-1 by No. 2 Vanderbilt on Friday in Nashville.

In Kentucky’s loss to OSU, sophomore transfer Diana Tkachenko scored the Wildcats lone point of the match, defeating Emma DeCoste 6-4, 6-3 in No. 4 singles. Kentucky is still without junior Akvile Parazinskaite – who is ranked No. 26 in the nation in the singles – as she is battling an ankle injury obtained in pre-season play.

The Wildcats (3-2) are looking for their first win in the all-time series vs. the Bears, as Baylor leads it 2-0. The two teams have not met in action since 2011 when Baylor picked up a 7-0 victory in Waco, Texas.
