Lauren Hartlage secured a top-10 finish at the Minnesota Invitational on Tuesday and led the University of Louisville women’s golf team to third in the team’s season opener in Woodbury, Minnesota.

Hartlage carded a 1-under-par 215 in the tournament and tied for sixth at the Prestwick Golf Club. The junior shot a 1-over-par 73 in the final round and earned the 13th top-10 finish of her career.

With two golfers shooting even par in the third round, Louisville climbed three spots on the last day of competition behind a 3-over-par 291. The Cardinals, over the two days, registered a 9-over-par 873. San Jose State won the team competition with a 4-under-par 860.

Mairead Martin and Olivia Cason each logged an even-par 72 in the final round. A freshman, Martin took 13th in her first collegiate event behind a 2-over-par 218. Cason tied for 14th with a 3-over-par 219.

Margot Bechadergue produced the best three-round score of her career, shooting a 5-over-par 221. The sophomore, who played in only five events a season ago, tied for 22nd. She paced the Cardinals with nine birdies.

Lauren Thibodeau also made her collegiate debut this week and tied for 40th.

The Cardinals return to action on Sept. 21, competing at the Mason Rudolph Championship in Franklin, Tennessee.
