The Ohio Valley Conference has named Murray State’s Linette Holmslykke the league’s Female Golfer of the Month for September.
A senior from Vejle, Denmark, had an outstanding first month of the season when she tied for first and finished second while helping her team to a pair of top three finishes.
At the Missouri State Payne Stewart Invitational, Holmslykke carded rounds of 69-71-72 to finish at 212 (-1) and tie for first place (before finishing second after a two-hole playoff). At the Jacksonville State Chris Banister Classic, the senior carded rounds of 74-72-75 to finish at 221 (+5), taking second place in a field that included five OVC schools.
Holmslykke finished the month with a 72.2 scoring average and currently ranks first in the OVC.
The Racers have a pair of events remaining in the fall portion of the 2018-19 season. They visit Monroe, Louisiana (Oct. 15-16) to compete in the Fred Marx Invitational. On Oct. 20-21, the Racers travel to Louisville to play in the Cardinal Cup.
