In a field that included two top-25 ranked teams, Eastern Kentucky University senior Erik Lindwall finished fourth at the 2018 Little Rock Invitational on Tuesday.
No. 19 Arkansas State edged No. 23 UNLV for the team title by one shot. Lindwall finished higher than 10 of the 12 players from those two teams. He also finished higher than every player from Arizona and the host school, Arkansas Little Rock.
The Soderkoping, Sweden native began with an even par round of 72 on Monday and then followed with a second round 1-over 73. On Tuesday, he shot a final round 3-under to finish with a total of 214 (-2).
As a team, EKU tied for 11th overall. Eastern shot rounds of 293, 300 and 301 for a total of 894 (+30). The Colonels finished tied with Texas State (894) and were just two shots out of the top-10. Eastern Kentucky finished higher than teams from Stephen F. Austin, UT Arlington and Central Arkansas among others.
The 17-team field competed at the par-72, 7,326-yard Chenal Country Club.
Edvin Lindgren (223) tied for 35th and Billy Basham (226) tied for 43rd. Andreas Nielson (232) finished tied for 72nd and Willis Gaer (233) tied for 74th.
EKU will wrap up the fall portion of its 2018-19 schedule at the Homewood/Hilton Garden Airport & FGCU Classic hosted by Florida Gulf Coast University in Estero, Florida on Oct. 28-29.
