The Eastern Kentucky University men’s basketball team will host Kentucky Christian University in an exhibition on Thursday night, November 1. Tip from McBrayer Arena is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Admission to the exhibition is FREE.

EKU will be led by senior forward Nick Mayo, a preseason All-OVC selection. Mayo ranked third in the OVC in scoring last season at 18.0 points-per-game. He was also among the OVC’s leaders in rebounding (11th / 6.7 rebounds-per-game), field goal percentage (ninth / 52.8%), free throw percentage (sixth / 83.9%), three-point field goal percentage (44.6%) and blocks (1.5 blocks-per-game).

First-year head coach A.W. Hamilton took over the program in late March following a season in which he helped lead N.C. State back to the NCAA Tournament as an assistant coach under Kevin Keatts. Before arriving in Raleigh, Hamilton was the head coach at one of the top prep basketball programs in the country, Hargrave Military Academy.

Kentucky Christian is 0-1 after falling at Campbellsville, 95-66, on Monday. Juran Ligonde led the Knights in that game with 17 points.

KCU went 15-16 last season.

EKU opens the regular season at home vs. nationally-ranked Marshall on Wednesday night, November 7, at 7 p.m.
