Claiming a spot in the active weekend of home events, the Kentucky women’s tennis team will host the first-ever Kentucky Invite on Nov. 2-4, at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center.
Tulane and Virginia Tech join Kentucky to compete in a round-robin format that features a combined 41 singles matches and nine doubles matches, over the three-day period. The bouts will take place indoors on courts one through four.
Singles matches overwhelm the schedule, running Friday and Sunday, with doubles sandwiched in the middle on Saturday. The operation will begin at 8:30 a.m. Friday with Kentucky and Virginia Tech, followed by Virginia Tech and Tulane, while Kentucky and Tulane round out the day.
The doubles division will resume Saturday at 9 a.m. beginning with Kentucky and Virginia Tech, followed by Kentucky and Tulane, concluding with Kentucky and Virginia Tech. The final doubles matches are projected to end prior to the Kentucky versus Georgia football kickoff, which is slated for 3:30 p.m.
The final day will function similar to Friday, with the addition of new lineups. Virginia Tech and Tulane will battle first, followed by Kentucky and Tulane, while Kentucky and Virginia Tech occupy the finale.

Parking will be available for non-permitted fans in parking structures two, three and six, on Saturday only, at no cost. On Friday and Sunday, spectators can enjoy additional parking options – the two E-lots adjacent to the outdoor courts, or for $2 an hour, parking structure seven. The final two parking options are located off Sports Center Drive.
Admission into the Kentucky Invite is free, and spectators can expect free hot chocolate each day.
Unique to a home event, each player on the Kentucky roster will play in the field. The Wildcats makeup a squad of nine – two newcomers, two sophomores, three juniors and two seniors.
The team is well into its fall schedule, three pro-circuit tournaments and three collegiate tournaments into their season. The Kentucky Invite will give the team, particularly the freshman, an opportunity to get in a dual mindset ahead of the regular season, which is only two months out. While the event is designed to mock a dual meet, scores are only recorded by individuals, which will affect their International Tennis Association preseason ranking.
