As the final buzzer sounded, Murshid Randle’s 11th three-pointer drop through the bottom of the net – a new Georgetown College school and men’s basketball in-game made threes record. The No. 4 Tigers (3-0) hit 16 shots from deep in a 98-47 win over Ohio-Chillicothe.

The Hilltoppers made it interesting early. GC opened a 6-0 advantage, but OC rallied back to pull within one, 10-9.

Georgetown responded with a 13-0 run of their own, including three deep ones from Randle. The junior finished with a career-high 39 points on 14-of-25 shooting, including 11-of-21 from downtown.

Troy Steward heated up in the second half with 12 of his 14 points – all on three-point makes. Chris Coffey was a rebound shy of a double-double, with 13 points and nine rebounds. Eljay Cowherd had a double-double with 13 points and 12 assists.

Malik Dow scored seven, while Dominique Reid and Colton Elkins added six each.

Randle had seven threes at the break, leading Chillicothe by himself 27-21.

Georgetown is back in action 2 pm Sunday hosting Wright State University – Lake.

NOTE: Previous record was held by men’s Trent Gilbert (10 vs. Miami University – Hamilton fall 2017) and women’s Shelby Beam (10 vs. Life spring 2017)
