With the end of preseason camp nearing, the Eastern Kentucky University football team held its second scrimmage on Saturday at Roy Kidd Stadium.

EKU is continuing to explore all options to play football in the fall.  Schedule information will be announced when it becomes available.

Quentin Pringle set up an early first half touchdown drive with a 22-yard run to get the ball near the red zone.  Tyris Dickerson finished it off moments later with a 1-yard touchdown run on fourth down.

Two long passes by newcomer Kaymen Cureton covered 46 yards and put the offense inside the five.  However, the defense came up with a big goal line stand and forced a field goal.

A 12-yard quarterback run up the middle by Dakota Allen led to a 1-yard scoring run by Nate Skidmore.  The redshirt freshman scored on two more short-yardage runs in the second half.

The defense ended the first half with a safety.

The second half was highlighted by three long touchdown passes.  Parker McKinney hooked up with Dickerson for a 46-yard score.  Later in the half, McKinney connected with Keyion Dixon for a 45-yard touchdown pass.  The final play of the scrimmage was a 69-yard scoring toss from Cureton to Dixon.

Freshman linebacker Elijah Ford accounted for one of the several defensive sacks.  On a fourth down play from the one yard line, Ford got into the backfield and ended the scoring threat.

All EKU practices and scrimmages are closed to fans and media.
