University of Louisville wide receiver Jaylen Smith has been invited to play in the 2019 Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, on Jan. 26 at 2:30 p.m. ET. The NFL Network will televise the game from Ladd-Peebles Stadium.

He is the first Cardinal to be extended an invitation to the all-star contest since five players accepted bids in 2016.

Smith, who ranks in the top 10 in numerous receiving categories in school history, is coming off a senior season that saw him lead the team with 36 receptions for 550 yards and one touchdown.  He posted a pair of 100-yard receiving games last year, totaling 100 yards in a loss to Florida State, and a season high 107 yards on eight receptions versus Wake Forest.

A four-year starter for the Cardinals, the Pascagoula, Mississippi, native appeared in 48 games and started 34 times during his stellar career. He ranks sixth all-time at Louisville with 2,505 yards on 152 receptions, which is the ninth most in school history.

Smith also ranks fourth with a 16.4 yards per catch average and stands ninth with 15 career touchdown receptions.
