The 2014 NCAA football is wrapping up as three Kentucky schools look forward to post season football. In Division 1, the Kentucky Wildcats (5-6) and Western Kentucky Hiltoppers (5-5) both look to gain bowl eligibility. The third football program the Colonels of Eastern Kentucky have positioned themselves for a spot in the NCAA Division 1-AA playoff system.

The Wildcats are 5-6 with one game remaining on their schedule against top 25 ranked Louisville next Saturday. A win against the Cardinals would not only give them six wins on the season but it would also make them bowl eligible. Currently eight teams from the SEC have six wins with five other schools looking for one more win. The win would also possible land the Wildcats into the Duck Commander Independence Bowl against a team from the ACC.

For the Hilltoppers, they have games against UTSA and Marshall to land one win to get the team to six wins. A win in both contest including one against undefeated Marshall could help the team land a bowl over one of the other bowl eligible teams in Conference USA. The other game plan that would help the team is a win over UTSA and Marshall to win out landing them an at large bid bowl. Kentucky could land a spot in the Gildan New Mexico Bowl with a win and a loss by UTEP.

The last of the three Kentucky schools, the Colonels have positioned themselves to land a spot in the Division I-AA playoff. Currently the FCS coaches has the 9-2 Colonels ranked 16th as they enter their final game against the Florida Gators. As far as where they will be seeded will come down to the selection committee on November 23rd.

For now the fans in Kentucky will have to sit back and hold on for another couple weeks to determine if any or all of them find their way into post season football.
