The Campbellsville football team moved up five spots in the NAIA Football Coaches’ Top 25 Poll this week to No. 20, the national office announced on Monday.

 

The Tigers are 6-0 on the season for the first time since 1991. Campbellsville picked up 96 voting points in the poll this week after earing a 52-7 road win over Ave Maria University last week. Of the nine unbeaten teams in the NAIA, the Tigers are the only team not ranked inside the top nine.

 

Lindsey Wilson College leads all Mid-South Conference Bluegrass teams in the national ranking with 286 points to sit at No. 5. Georgetown College is ninth in the poll after earning 235 total points. Lindsey Wilson and Georgetown join Campbellsville in a three-way tie for the top spot in the MSC Bluegrass Division standings.

 

Cumberland University is the final team from the Bluegrass ranked in the top 25 as it remained at No. 22 with 52 total points.

 

Reinhardt University is the top MSC team in the poll as it represents the Appalachian Division at No. 3 with 312 total points. Southeastern University is the only team from the Sun Division ranked in the poll this week at No. 13 with 179 points.

 

University of St. Francis continues to be ranked No. 1 overall with all 15 first-place votes and 340 total points. Baker University is ranked second with 327 points and Morningside College is the final team mentioned in the top five with 303 points.

 

Dakota State University was the only new team to enter the top 25 this week and is 25th overall, while the top 12 teams held suit in the rating.

 

Campbellsville is back in action on Saturday afternoon against No. 9 Georgetown in a battle of unbeaten teams. Kickoff for Campbellsville’s Homecoming game is set for 2:01 p.m. ET from Finley Stadium.

 

The next regular season poll is set to be announced on Monday, Oct. 30.
