Eastern Kentucky University sophomore men’s golfer Erik Lindwall is the 22nd ranked European playing collegiate golf in the United States, according to the final Arnold Palmer Cup Rankings of the fall.

The top six golfers from the final ranking in the spring from both the United States and Europe will be among the individuals selected to compete in the Arnold Palmer Cup at the Atlanta Athletic Club June 9-11.

Lindwall finished first twice this fall, winning the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational and the Patriot Intercollegiate. The Soderkoping, Sweden native has a 71.12 stroke average. His second round 7-under 63 at the Marshall Invitational set a new single round program record. In 17 rounds of golf this season, Lindwall has shot par or under in nine rounds.

Using Golfstat’s NCAA Player Ranking as a base, the Arnold Palmer Cup Ranking awards bonus points for wins and high finishes, and a negative bonus for poor finishes. The ranking also contains a strength of schedule component.

EKU is the 28th ranked men’s golf team in the Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll. Eastern Kentucky posted first places finishes at four events this fall. The Colonels finished second in their other two events.

Eastern will be back in action on Feb. 20-21 at The Invitational at Savannah Harbor hosted by William & Mary.
