After tying and breaking two school records, Eastern Kentucky University junior Elsa Moberly was chosen as the adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week on Wednesday, the league announced from its Brentwood, Tennessee headquarters.

This marks the second straight week this season, and the eighth time in her career, that she has earned the award.

In a field that included six teams ranked in the top-35 in the nation at the end of last season, and 10 teams rated among the top-65, Moberly tied for fifth overall at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship hosted by the University of Tennessee.

Moberly shot two rounds under par against the loaded field. She opened play on Monday with a 4-under round of 67 in the first round, tying her own school record for lowest single round. Moberly then shot a 2-over during Monday’s second round. The junior from Somerset, Kentucky closed out play on Tuesday with a 2-under 69. Her 54-hole total of 209 broke her own school record of 211 set last season.

Moberly tied with Brigitte Dunne of Southern Methodist and was just one shot behind fourth place Bing Singhsumalee of Illinois. Emilia Migliaccio from Wake Forest captured individual medalist honors with a three-round total of 204.

All 15 teams included in the field were ranked among the top-100 in the nation at the end of last season. Moberly helped EKU finish 13th overall, beating No. 55 Missouri and No. 77 Coastal Carolina.

The Colonels will be back in action on Monday at the three-day Golfweek Conference Challenge in Vail, Colorado.
