Former University of Louisville forward Dwayne Sutton has been named as a 2020 Professional Basketball Combine (PBC) honoree.

The PBC is a secondary NBA Draft combine, primarily for prospects in the second round, UDFA, Two-Way, Exhibit-10, and overseas wheelhouse, with a strong history of identifying under-the-radar talent, helping them to maximize their pre-draft exposure to pro hoops decision-makers, and providing them an opportunity to make the most informed decision about their basketball future.

Sutton is among 24 college and six international prospects honored by the PBC, whose event takes place annually at Mamba Sports Academy, but COVID-19 issues prevented the event from happening this year.  Without the in-person scouting, the PBC staff will work diligently to relay information to NBA, G League, and international basketball contacts about what the honorees provide as potential fits at the next level.

Sutton earned honorable mention All-ACC honors as a senior last season.  The Louisville native ranked seventh in the ACC in rebounding with 8.2 per game and was fifth in defensive rebounds (5.7). He pulled down nine or more rebounds in 15 games last season.  He averaged 10.0 points and 7.6 rebounds over the last seven games of the season — second on the team in scoring in that stretch — while shooting 52.1 percent from the field (8-of-21 threes).

Sutton had 10 career double-doubles and scored in double digits 34 times with the Cardinals.  He scored 1,180 points in his collegiate career (772 at Louisville, 408 at UNC Asheville) and pulled down 893 career boards at his two schools (631 at Louisville, 272 at UNC   He grabbed double-digit boards in 11 games as a senior and led the Cards on the glass 12 times.

Four former Cardinals have participated in the PBC past years, including Deng Adel, Mangok Mathiang, Jaylen Johnson and Quentin Snider. Other notable PBC alumni include Kendrick Nunn, Chris Silva and Desmond Bane.  In three years, the combine has produced participants with more than 10 Two-Way Contracts, over 40 NBA Summer League Invitations, more than 35 G League Contracts and multiple international professional contracts.
