Dayton Gumm graduated high school at South Warren in 2016, last night he committed to Austin Peay to play college basketball. The Spartans all time leading scorer did a year of post grad prep during the 2016-2017 season at 22 Foot Academy in Greenville, SC under former Taylor County coach, Richard Gatewood.

Gumm joins the 2017 KHSAA State Tournament MVP, Terry Taylor as an incoming freshman for the Governors next season. Gumm and Taylor competed against each other in high school, but were on the same AAU teams with Western KY Elite and also on the Nike EYBL with the We All Can Go All Stars out of Nashville.

Austin Peay has a strong Kentucky connection. In addition to Gumm and Taylor, former Warren Central star Chris Porter-Bunton is on the roster while the new coach of the Governors is Jenkins, KY native, Matt Figger.

Here is Gumm’s highlights from the Nike EYBL in 2016 for We All Can Go All Stars. Gumm scored 28 points vs. Kentucky signee, Jared Vanderbilt and Houston Hoops. Gumm was a top 50 scorer in the EYBL.
