Kentucky State University women’s basketball announced the addition of 5 foot 10 power forward Erica Jones to its 2017 signing class on Monday morning.
Jones will enter the 2017-18 season as a true freshman and will bring added stability to the Thorobrettes down in the paint with her style of play.
“We are so excited to have Erica (Jones) join our program,” said head coach Terrance Slater. “I believe she’ll help us out tremendously in the interior and makes us a faster more mobile team. She has potential and a high motor.”
Jones hails from Southaven, Mississippi where she attended Southaven High School. During her senior season, Jones averaged 16 points, seven rebounds, three steals, and two blocks per game. Due to her overall performance, she was named to the All-District and AAA All-Metro teams.
