Royal Legends dominated the first Weekend of May

The Royal Legends program has been coming strong the last couple of yeasr and this year are no doubt making their name known all throughout the state. More so than just in Kentucky, they are becoming well known throughout the Mid West United States and this weekend helped the program take another step forward.

This past weekend the Royal Legends sent thier 2024 team to Dayton, Ohio to take on some of the best teams from Ohio in the 20th annual Dayton Metro Roundball Classic. The Legends more than held their own as they brought the title back across the Ohio River into the Bluegrass State. The Royal Legends defeated many top teams including two of the top five in Ohio, All Ohio Blue and the Mid-Ohio Pumas. Point guard Cayden Reed was a catalyst and floor general for the Legends.

The 7th grade Royal Legends features two players in our top 20 player rankings for the class of 2022 in Justin Becker and Collin Porter. The 7th grade group stayed home this weekend and won the Gatorade National Prep in Lexington this past weekend. Becker seen varsity action at Robertson County as a 7th grader, this past weekend he averaged 18 points and 12 rebounds.

The Legends program has taken a step to one of the premier programs in Kentucky and possibly the premier program in the Northern Kentucky market. Another big step will take place in two weeks when they head to the G3 Rising Stars Tournament in Indianapolis, rumor is they will take on the nations #3 ranked team in 2022, Bates Fundamentals in pool play.
