The Kentucky Wildcats gymnastics team just added another feather in its cap as senior Raena Worley was named Southeastern Conference (SEC) Gymnast of the Week. The announcement was made by the conference on Tuesday, after Worley’s remarkable performance against No. 11 Alabama last Friday.

The Christiansburg, Va. native earned her 15th all-around title, with a combined total of 39.675, the highest of this season’s three. Her near-perfect floor performance set a new season-best for Worley and a new program record for the Wildcats, who posted a score of 197.825.

Worley tied for the top mark on the floor exercise with a 9.950, and finished second overall on the balance beam with the same score. She also placed fifth on both vault and bars, tying her season-best on vault with a 9.850 and scoring a big 9.925 on the uneven bars.

This week’s honor is Worley’s sixth SEC weekly award of her collegiate career, with two awards won as a freshman and three last season. Her latest recognition showcases her consistency and dominance as a gymnast, and highlights the talented and dedicated athletes that make up the Kentucky Wildcats gymnastics team.

The Wildcats are eager to continue their winning streak, and Worley’s impressive performance sets the bar high for her team and future opponents.
