Thomas More WTEN Falls to University of Dayton, 7-0

The Thomas More University women’s tennis team faced a tough loss against the University of Dayton on Sunday afternoon, with a final score of 7-0. The loss brings the Saints’ overall record to 1-2.

In the doubles competition, the duo of Dakota Schroeder and Noelia Martinez Garcia fell to Natalie Osiecki and Neena Katauskas with a score of 6-2. First-year players Alexis Covington and Heidi Kane were defeated 6-1 by Elizabeth Hamilton and Laura Greb. Senior Kimberly Sabga and junior Sydney Johnson also came up short, losing 6-2 to Jordan Mitchell and Grace Murphy.

In the singles competition, Covington was defeated 6-0 and 6-2 by Natalie Osiecki, while Schroeder fell 6-0 and 6-2 to Neena Katauskas. Kane was defeated by Elizabeth Hamilton 6-2 and 6-2, and Martinez Garcia fell 6-2 and 6-0 to Laura Greb. Sabga was defeated 6-1 and 6-3 by Jordan Mitchell, and Johnson was defeated by Grace Murphy 6-2 and 6-1.

Despite the loss, the Thomas More University women’s tennis team will look to bounce back and improve their overall record. The Saints return to action on Friday (February 17) against Cedarville at 7:00 pm ET at Five Seasons Family Sports Club. The team will work to make necessary adjustments and improve their performance in their next match.
