Linette Holmslykke carded a 2-under-par 70 to lead the Racers Monday at the UNF Intercollegiate being play at the Jacksonville Golf and Country Club in Jacksonville, Florida.

Holmslykke’s 70 was the low round for the Racers in the first 36 holes of the event. The MSU senior jumped from 57th place after a morning round of 77 to 23rd place with an afternoon 70. She shared 23rd place with freshman teammate Sarah McDowell who posted scored of 73-74=147. Other Murray State scores included Anna Moore in 43rd place on rounds of 73-77=150, Jane Watts in 59th place on scores of 75-78=153 and Raeshya Surendran in 64th place on scores of 75-79=154.

The Racers as a team had rounds of 296-299=595 and had a share of 11th place with Western Kentucky, ahead of Stetson (599) and Cincinnati (600). In a battle of teams in the Ohio Valley Conference, the Racers were only one shot behind Jacksonville State (594) and chasing fourth place Eastern Kentucky (584).

Delaware was the first round leader at 569, with Mercer in second place at 576.

There was a three-way lead for the medalist honor with Sam Houston’s Hanna Alberto, Ariane Klotz and Thitaree Sakulbunpanich of Delaware all tied at 138.

The final round is Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. local time.
