The No. 49-ranked University of Louisville fell 4-0 to No.1 North Carolina in an Atlantic Coast Conference women’s tennis match on Sunday at Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.

Louisville moves to 10-5 and 2-3 in the ACC. The Tar Heels are now 4-0 against the ACC and 16-1 overall. 

The Cardinals dropped the doubles point when UofL’s No. 1 pair, Sena Suswam and Dina Chaika, fell 6-1 to the undefeated duo No. 16 ranked Alexa Graham and Jessie Aney. At No. 2 Makenna Jones/Alle Sanford defeated Raven Neely/Diana Wong 6-0.

UNC carried the momentum into singles taking three matches. Aleksandra Mally fell to No. 5-ranked Alexa Graham 6-3, 6-0. Sophia Patel beat UofL’s Dina Chaika at No 6, 6-1, 6-2. Chloe Hamlin fell to No. 122 Alle Sanford, who clinched the match at No. 4 with a score of 6-1, 6-2. 

The Cardinals head to Notre Dame for a match March 8 at 3:30 in South Bend.
