The Eastern Kentucky University softball team continues its home stand when it takes on Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and Eastern Illinois University this weekend.

First pitch against SIU Edwardsville will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, with game two following approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one.  Senior Day festivities will start approximately 30 minutes before first pitch. Sunday’s doubleheader against Eastern Illinois is currently scheduled for 1 p.m.

EKU seat cushions will be given out at Friday’s game and EKU pop sockets will be given to fans at Sunday’s game.

All games will air live on ESPN+ this weekend.

Inside the Series                                                                                                                   

-SIUE leads the all-times series between the two teams 15-7.

-EKU leads the all-time series against Eastern Illinois, 41-29.

What EKU Brings:

-EKU comes into the weekend 21-15, after sweeping a pair against in-state rival Morehead State on Wednesday.

-Hannah Clark leads the way offensively for the Colonels. She has a .386 batting average, 10 doubles, 10 home runs and 40 RBIs.

-EKU ranks third in the conference in scoring on the year.

-Clark ranks 26th in the country in runs batted in per game.

Mollie Paulick ranks second in the country with six saves. 

Eastern ranks 43rd in the country in home runs per game. 

Scouting the Opponent:

-SIU Edwardsville comes into the weekend 12-16 and winners of its last three games. 

-Alyssa Heren paces the offense for the Cougars with a team-high .402 batting average. She has 12 doubles, one triple and 12 RBIs on the year. Emily Ingles leads the way in the circle for SIUE with a 5-8 record on the season. She has a 5.40 ERA with 62 strikeouts over 73 and one-third innings.  

-Eastern Illinois comes into the weekend at 10-33 and having lost 11 straight games.  

-Mia Davis leads the way offensively for the Panthers with a .287 batting average. She has five doubles, seven home runs and 29 RBIs on the season. McKenna Coffman leads the way in the circle for EIU with a team beat 3.11 ERA. She is 2-9 on the year with 28 strikeouts.

Eastern wraps up its seven game home stand on Wednesday when they take on Northern Kentucky University at 5 p.m. It will be Employee Appreciation night.
