Louisville MGOLF Ready to Make Waves at the ACC Championship

The University of Louisville men’s golf team, seeded sixth, is set to begin its postseason journey on Friday, April 21, as they compete in the ACC Men’s Golf Championship. The prestigious event will take place at the Country Club of North Carolina in Pinehurst, N.C., from April 21-24.

The championship format includes three rounds of stroke play on Friday and Saturday, followed by match play semifinals on Sunday and match play finals on Monday. Fans can catch the semifinals and finals of the ACC Men’s Golf Championship match play live on ACC Network Extra from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Ryan Burr (play-by-play) and Steve Scott (analyst) will provide commentary. A championship recap show is scheduled to air on May 1 at 9 p.m. on ACCN.

The Cardinals head into the championship with confidence, having recently secured their first tournament win under head coach Ryan Blagg at the Aggie Invitational two weeks ago. The victory marked the team’s first win since 2019, with an 11-shot lead after two rounds.

Max Kennedy earned his first collegiate win at the Aggie Invitational, outlasting teammate Jiri Zuska. Kennedy claimed the medalist honors with a score of 7-under-par, while Zuska finished just one shot behind.

Friday’s schedule includes two rounds of stroke play, with split tee times staggered between 7:30 a.m. and 9:18 a.m., followed by continuous play in the second round. Saturday features the final round of stroke play, with split tees scheduled from 9 a.m. to 10:48 a.m.

Louisville will tee off on Friday at 7:30 a.m., paired with No. 5 Wake Forest and No. 4 Virginia.

The latest Golfstat rankings reveal that four ACC teams are ranked in the Top 25, including top seed North Carolina (ranked second), FSU (6), Georgia Tech (12), and Virginia (16). The Cardinals enter the postseason ranked No. 27 and are eager to make their mark on the ACC Championship.
