After starting the season with two second place finishes and one first place performance, the Eastern Kentucky University women’s golf team is ranked 56th in the nation by Golfstat.

The Colonels began the season by finishing second at the Thundering Herd Kickoff and the USA Intercollegiate before winning the Cardinal Classic.
EKU is the highest ranked Ohio Valley Conference team, is just one spot behind Louisville (55th) and is ranked higher than such schools as the College of Charleston (57th), Washington State (59th), Oregon State (60th), Western Kentucky (62nd), Gonzaga (63rd), Michigan (66th), UNLV (67th), Minnesota (68th), Indiana (71st), East Tennessee (72nd), Penn State (73rd), Michigan State (74th), Kansas State (83rd), Iowa (85th), Nebraska (90th), Kansas (121st) and Virginia Tech (130th).
Sophomore newcomer Elsa Moberly had two first place finishes and one second in three events this season. She has been chosen as the OVC Women’s Golf of the Week twice.
Eastern Kentucky will participate in the Rocket Classic on Oct. 10-11 at Catawba Island Golf Club.
