The Eastern Kentucky University volleyball team hits the road for Bowling Green, Kentucky to take on in-state rival Western Kentucky University on Tuesday.

First serve is at 7 p.m. Western Kentucky leads the all-time series between the two teams 9-8.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

-Eastern went 2-1 last weekend, falling to host UNC Asheville before sweeping a pair of contests against Dartmouth and North Carolina A&T. The Colonels are 3-3 on the year.

-Freshman Abby Noll ranks third in the OVC in kills, seventh in digs and fifth in points.

-Dena Tekavec ranks sixth in the conference in digs on the season.

-Senior Rachel Woody comes in at fifth in the OVC in assists on the year.

-Eastern has been getting it done on the defensive side ranking first in digs with 392 (19.60 per set) and second in opponent hitting percentage at .132 in the conference.

-The Colonels rank second in the conference with 13.75 kills per set.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS:

WESTERN KENTUCKY

-Western Kentucky comes into the weekend at 5-1 after taking down Arizona State and Tennessee Tech, before falling to No. 24 Louisville.

-The Hilltoppers are led by sophomore middle Lauren Matthews, who has a team-best 76 kills on the year. She ranks fourth in the conference in kills per set. 

-Nadia Dieudonne ranks first in Conference USA with 237 assists on the year. The junior is averaging 10.77 assists per game.

-Sophie Cerino leads the way in the conference with 14 service aces on the year.

-WKU ranks second in the conference in hitting percentage at .258. 

WHAT’S NEXT:

-EKU hits the road to Akron, Ohio to play in the Akron Invitational starting on Friday. The Colonels will take on Seton Hall at 4 p.m. Followed with host Akron at 12:30 p.m. and Saint Francis (PA) at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
