Northern Kentucky men’s golf team is set to travel to nearby Maketewah Country Club as it plays host to the Xavier Invitational. This marks the seventh and final tournament for the men’s team this fall season.
The countable quintet for the men includes Jacob Poore, Logan Gamm, Avery Green, Jacob Vrolijk and Ty DeBonis. Individuals set to compete for the Norse are Joseph Clark, Brady Howell and Alex Doss.
Fall Season Recap
The two seniors on the roster have consistently led the Norse in scoring average, with Jacob Poore averaging 72.24 strokes per round and Logan Gamm averaging 74.12. Five other members of the team are not far off the seniors’ marks as they all tally up a scoring average below 76. Additionally, the Norse record a team average of 295 after 17 rounds of play.
The par-71, 6,809-yard Maketewah Country Club is an 18-hole Tom Bendelow/Donald Ross Championship Course located in Cincinnati, Ohio. The men will play 36-holes on Monday, Oct. 22 followed by the final 18 on Tuesday, Oct. 23.
The 16-team field features Ball State, Bowling Green, Butler, DePaul, Indiana, IUPUI, La Salle, Miami (OH), Morehead State, Northern Kentucky, Oakland, Ohio State, St. John’s, West Virginia, Wright State and Xavier.
