Louisville sophomore Emina Ekic  and freshman Maisie Whitsett earned All-American honors by Top Drawer Soccer.  Ekic was named a third team All-American while Whitsett was named a second team Freshman All-American. 


This is the second All-American honor for Ekic this season.  She earned second team All-American honors by the United Soccer Coaches Association at the end of November.  Ekic was also named a first team all-region selection after an impressive sophomore campaign.  Following the regular season, she earned first team All-ACC honors.  Coming off an injury from last season, she was outstanding in ACC play this season.  Ekic, the 2017 ACC Freshman of the Year, finished the regular season with seven goals and five assists for 19 points. She helped the Cardinals score in five of the last six matches, including two game-winning goals.  She led the team with 47 shots and 22 shots on goal. 

Whitsett had a breakthrough rookie year, finishing the season as the Cardinals’ second leading scorer.  She played in every match for the Cardinals and finished with 20 points.  She led the team with nine goals and also dished out two assists.  She finished the year second on the team in shots with 41, including 21 on goal.  She was also second on the team with three game-winning goals.
