Murray State WBB’s Young Nets Fourth Straight OVC Freshman Honor

For the fourth time in as many weeks this season, Katelyn Young of the Murray State women’s basketball team has been named as the OVC Freshman of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

Young averaged 18.5 points and 7.5 rebounds over a win and a loss last week for the Racers. The freshman scored 22 points and seven rebounds in a win over North Alabama, which was followed by 15 points and eight rebounds in a loss to Austin Peay. Young went 12-for-18 from the floor on the week in addition to a very impressive 13-for-17 at the free throw line, going 6-for-8 against UNA and 7-for-9 against the Govs.

The Racers are currently on an extended break and will return to action Dec. 30 against Belmont. Tip-off from the Curb Center in Nashville, Tennessee is set for 12 p.m.
