UK TF Freshman K.Muhammad Qualifies for World Jr Championships

Kentucky track and field freshman Kendall Muhammad earned a spot on the American team that will compete at the World Junior Championships in Poland later this summer by claiming silver in the 1,500 meters at the 2016 USATF Junior Championships at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Sunday.
Muhammad ran a personal best 3:48.39 to place second in the final.
On Friday Sarah Blake claimed the USATF junior javelin bronze medal with a mark of 158’3”/48.32m. The top two finishers with the world junior championships standard qualified for the team that will compete in Poland, so Blake will be the first alternate for that team.
Olivia Gruver placed fourth in the USATF junior pole vault, with a best clearance at 13’7.25″/4.15m
The United States Olympic Team Trials will take place July 1-11 in Eugene, Oregon and a plethora of Wildcats and alumni are entered.
Olympic team trials and their equivalent meetings are taking place across the world in the coming weeks.
