Eastern Kentucky University placed 123 student-athletes on the Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the 2015-16 academic year, the league office announced on Wednesday.

Twenty-two EKU student-athletes appeared on the Honor Roll for two sports, bringing the total number of selections to 145.

The men’s cross country team (14) boasted more Honor Roll selections than any other OVC team in that sport.

To earn Commissioner’s Honor Roll recognition, recipients must have achieved at least a 3.25 grade-point-average and have been eligible and on the team throughout the competitive season in their chosen NCAA-sponsored sport(s) and used a season of competition.

As a whole, a record number of student-athletes have been named to the Ohio Valley Conference’s Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the sixth-straight year. This year’s total of 1,335 student-athletes topped the mark of 1,275 last year.

The OVC will announce the recipients of the Academic Medal of Honor on Thursday.
