Georgetown College men’s basketball had an off night. The No. 2 Tigers (17-1, 5-0) trailed multiple times by a dozen and could not get closer than seven points in the second half against Campbellsville University (9-8, 1-4). However, Quan Poindexter kept them in it with career-highs in points, 41, and rebounds, 11, allowing time for Troy Steward to come to life. Steward hit three deep threes and a runner in the lane as Georgetown erased a nine-point deficit coming out of a time out with just less than seven minutes left. Georgetown never trailed again in a 93-87 win in Campbellsville. Steward finished with 17 points.

Georgetown returns to action 8 pm Jan. 19 hosting Lindsey Wilson College.
