The Murray State track & field team participated in the Thundering Herd Invitational over the weekend at the Chris Cline Indoor Athletic Facility at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia.

The event was the fourth of the indoor season as the Racers find themselves about a month from the Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Championships in Charleston, Illinois (Feb. 24-25).

Racer head coach Jenny Swieton saw many good things from her squad.

“I am very happy with our continued progress,” she said. “We had a lot of personal records and collegiate bests set this weekend. We are getting better and better at doubling as well. That is very important going into the conference meet. We had several people PR in their second event of the weekend which is tough to do.”

MSU had 11 personal records in the Marshall event including a pair for Ida Mutai and Rebekah Priddy in the 5000m and mile runs. Meagan Smith had a PR in the mile, while Maura Farrell and Ali Hester did so in the 5000m.
