Thomas More Track & Field’s Cook and Winkler Earn Weekly PAC Honors

Thomas More College junior Christina Cook (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton) and sophomore Logan Winkler (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton) earned weekly track & field honors from the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) office on Monday.

Cook was named the PAC Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for the second-straight week. She raced to a first-place finish in the 400 Saturday afternoon at the Rose-Hulman Engineer Invitational, posting a winning time of 58.49 seconds. The effort tops the PAC’s performance list this season and ranks 12th in Division III. Cook finished fourth in the 200 (26.39), which is also the league’s fastest time in the event.

Winkler was named the PAC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week. At Saturday’s Rose-Hulman Engineer Invitational, he won the long jump with a PAC-leading jump of 21 feet, 2.50 inches. Winkler also finished third in the high jump with a PAC-leading mark of 6-03.50 and 10th in the triple jump with a jump of 40-08.75.

The track & field teams return to action on February 11 when they compete at the Trojan Invitational hosted by Taylor University in Upland, Indiana.
