The 2017 season marks the 25th anniversary of EKU softball. The program would like to invite all fans, alumni, family and friends to join in the celebration the weekend of May 5-6.
The weekend will begin with a reception and dinner on Friday, May 5 at the historic Keen Johnson Building. The reception gets underway at 5:30 p.m. and the dinner at 7 p.m. The dinner is FREE for all alumni. The adult ticket price is $25. Tickets for children are $15 and includes pizza and babysitting services.
Saturday’s celebration centers around a doubleheader at the brand new Gertrude Hood Stadium against rival Morehead State University. The day begins with a campus tour at 11:30 a.m. If you haven’t been on campus lately, you won’t believe all the changes.
Gates open and tailgating begins at the stadium at 3 p.m. Food trucks will arrive at 4 p.m. Game one against the Eagles will start at 5 p.m.
In between games of the doubleheader, the 2002 and 2004 Ohio Valley Champion EKU softball teams will be honored, at approximately 6:30 p.m.
Hotel rooms are blocked off under EKU Softball Alumni at the Holiday Inn Express on 1990 Colby Taylor Road in Richmond. The rate is $110 per night. You can reserve by calling 859-624-4055.
