Ryan Dills has been named this week’s ADIDAS OVC Pitcher of the Week for his performance Saturday in Murray State’s 2-0 victory over 13th-ranked Louisiana at the Tangi Tourism Baseball Classic.
Dills tied a career-high with 10 strikeouts in the win over the Ragin’ Cajuns as he pitched seven strong innings and allowed just four hits in the shutout. Dills allowed just five baserunners total in the contest. The win was MSU’s first over a ranked opponent since 2014 when the Racers defeated Kentucky in extra innings.
Dills and the rest of the Racers return to action this weekend as they host Buffalo in a three-game series beginning Friday at 3 p.m., at Reagan Field. The weekend series will be the Racers’ home opener.
