Kentucky State University, women’s basketball, fell in SIAC action, 96-54, to Spring Hill College Monday evening at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.

Sophomore center Brooke Wallace recorded her second double-double of the season, scoring 16 points and grabbing 11 boards, both team-highs. Senior forward Logan Powell added 10 points and four rebounds for the Thorobrettes.

KSU (9-12, 5-7 SIAC) struggled against the Badgers’ high-octane offense as the home squad went on an early 10-0 run in the first 3:08 of play. The Thorobrettes fought back, going on a 6-0 run of their own in the final 4:47 of the first quarter to cut the SHC lead to 18-8.

Despite solid play towards the end of the first frame, the early Badger run was too much for the visitors to bounce back from as the Thorobrettes went on to lose their second-straight contest.

Freshman guard Elise Reilly finished the night for SHC, netting 39 points and making 9-of-14 attempts from behind the arc, breaking a school record for most threes made in one game a single player.

KSU will host SIAC rival Central State University Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. at the Exum Center.
