Murray State Women’s Track & Field Competes At APSU Invitational

The Murray State women’s track & field squad enjoyed great weather and competition over the weekend at the Austin Peay Invitational at Fortera Stadium in Clarksville, Tenn.

Highlights of the meet for the Racers included a third place finish in the 800 meters by freshman Hilary McAdam and a win in the 4×400 meter relay.

Here are some of the best accomplishments for the Racers at the Austin Peay meet.

Sprints
Aubrey Main placed 13th in the 100 Meter Hurdles with a time of 16.69.

Middle Distance
In the 800 meter run, McAdam had a time of 2:15.93 for a third place showing, while Tia Weston placed seventh at 2:20.67. Ali Hester was eighth with a time of 2:21.38 and Meagan Smith was ninth at 2:22.44.

Hester placed seventh in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:44.98 and Rebekah Priddy was 15th at 4:50.42.

Distance
Mason Swenson was MSU’s top runner in the 5000 meter event with a finish in seventh place with a time of 18:38.

Field Events
Hope Tewes was sixth in the high jump with a leap of 5-feet 1-inch.

In the pole vault, Chleo LeGrand was fifth with an effort of 10-feet 10-inches, while Yasmine Homa was seventh at 9-feet 10-inches.

Homa was ninth in the long jump at 16-feet 5.25-inches, while Aubrey Main was 11th at 15-feet 10.25 inches.

Tewes was 10th in the triple jump with a leap of 32-feet 11.75-inches.

It was a fourth place finish for Jewel Wagner in the shot put at 42-eet 7.50-inches. Destiny Carey was seventh at 40-feet 9-inches.

Carey was fourth in the discus at 114-feet 4-inches.

Kristen Higgins had a throw of 90-feet 8-inches in the javelin throw.

Relays
The Racers won the 4×400 meter relay with a time of 3:58.98

Next Up For The Racers
The Racers have but one two more weekend of events before they take on the competition at the OVC Championships. This coming weekend, the Racers will send their team to two meets. Ohio State hosts the Jesse Owens Invite in Columbus, Ohio and Bellarmine hosts the Annual Bellarmine Classic in Louisville, Kentucky.
