Seniors Maggie Glass & Mason Robinson of the Murray State softball team have been named as the adidas® OVC Player & Pitcher of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Glass hit safely in each of MSU’s three games last week with each hit scoring at least two runs. In the opener against TSU Tuesday, the Hopkinsville, Kentucky native hit the first grand slam of her career and followed that with a single up the middle in game two that scored two runs. In the win over EIU Friday, Glass went yard for the second time on the week, scoring three. In addition to her nine RBIs, two runs and two home runs on the week, Glass also had a stolen base.

For the second time in her past three appearances, Robinson tossed a perfect game and ended the week with 2-0 record and a 0.64 ERA. In her win over Tennessee State Tuesday, Robinson allowed just one earned run on four hits with three strikeouts and two walk over 5.0 innings of work. In the perfect game against Eastern Illinois Friday, the Lewis Center, Ohio tossed 6.0 innings and struck out a season-high seven of the 18 batters she faced and retired.

For the week, opponents hit just .111 against her and she ended the three-game span with a 5:1 strikeout to walk ratio. Friday’s perfect game, came just five days after she threw the first perfect game in program history against Belmont.

This is Mason Robinson’s second consecutive OVC Pitcher of the Week honor, third this season and seventh of her career. For Glass it was the first OVC honor of her career and the fourth and fifth by a Racer this season.
