WKU Track & Field: Dasor, Morris Qualify for Nationals on Day 2

WKU Track and Field shined in the short sprints Friday evening as both Emmanuel Dasor (400m) and Julius Morris (100m) qualified for Nationals at the UK Outdoor Track and Field Complex on Day 2 of the NCAA East Preliminaries.

Morris, who also made the quarterfinals in the 200-meter dash, made the cut in the 100-meter dash by edging out Cravont Charleston of NC State (13th place) by .01 seconds to claim 12th. The junior ran his third-fastest time of the season, clocking a 10.40.

In the 200-meter dash, Morris earned the best Hilltopper finish yet at the meet as the junior placed third with a time of 20.30 to make it to Saturday’s quarterfinals.

Dasor tallied a time of 45.59 in the 400-meter dash to finish in eighth place. The Ghana native will compete tomorrow in both of the 4x100m and 4x400m relays.

Junior Jonathan Hayden qualified for the quarterfinals in the 110m hurdles, posting a time of 14.03 to place 22nd. Tomorrow night at 6:20 p.m. CT will be the quarterfinals for the 110m hurdles.
