WKU Track & Field Set for NCAA East Preliminaries

Coming off their second-straight Conference USA Outdoor Championship, the Hilltoppers’ track and field squad will head up to Lexington to compete in the NCAA East Preliminaries at the UK Outdoor Track and Field Complex, beginning on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. CT.

 

The three-day event will be streamed live on SEC Network + and live results will be available. The championship will kick off with the hammer throw Thursday morning and will finish Saturday evening with the 4x400m relay.

In last year’s NCAA East Preliminaries, eight Hilltoppers’ times and marks qualified for Nationals. It marked the fourth-straight year that WKU sent at least eight individuals to Eugene.

 

On the men’s side, seven Hilltoppers will compete: Emmanuel Dasor (400m), Jonathan Hayden (110m hurdles), Eli Minor (100m, 200m), Desmond Mobley (high, long jump) Julius Morris (100m, 200m), Ventavius Sears (long, triple jump) and Maor Seged (400m hurdles).

 

On the women’s side, three Lady Toppers will compete: Jenessa Jackson (shot put), Morgan McIntyre (pole vault) and Khadijah Valentine (100m, 200m).

 

Both of the Hilltopper 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams will participate as well.
