Activities for the Kickoff Banquet are scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m., ET with a cocktail hour, silent auction and red carpet photos with student-athletes. The dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m., and will be followed by guest speakers and alumni recognition. The Kickoff Banquet will begin a busy weekend for the Cardinals, who will play their first preseason match the following night against Lipscomb (7:30 p.m.) at Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium.

Anticipation for Louisville’s 2017 season on the pitch is increasing with each day after the Cardinals advanced to the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Championship for the fourth time in the last seven seasons in 2016. Under the guidance of head coach Ken Lolla, who is in his 12th season at the helm at UofL, the Cardinals enter their fourth season in the Atlantic Coast Conference paced by the return of All-American defender Tim Kubel, All-ACC attacker Mohamed Thiaw and All-ACC midfielder Geoffrey Dee.

The 2017 season will also be the fourth for the Cardinals at Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium, the nation’s premier collegiate soccer venue. Louisville’s 10-match home schedule includes six matches against NCAA qualifiers – Butler (Aug. 28), Kentucky (Sept. 5), Wake Forest (Sept. 9), Boston College (Sept. 22), USF (Sept. 26) and North Carolina (Oct. 13). The UNC game will also serve as the centerpiece for Cardinals’ Alumni Weekend. UofL will open the 2017 regular season schedule against UC Irvine on Friday, Aug. 25 at 7:30 p.m., at Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium.
