Murray State softball head coach Kara Amundson has announced the addition of two student-athletes that will take the field for the Racers in the spring of 2018. Louisville transfer Lillie Goetz and Maddie De Morato of Puryear, Tennessee will both don the blue and gold for Murray State next season.

Goetz played in 73 games with 57 starts, primarily in the infield, over two seasons for the Cardinals. The Owensboro, Kentucky native put together a .272 average during her time at Louisville, including a .327 average as a freshman. In high school, Goetz was a two-time Kentucky Class A Player of the Year for Owensboro Catholic and a four-time All-State selection.

DeMorato was a part of a Henry County team that finished third in the TSSAA Class AAA State Tournament in 2017. Despite missing some of the season due to injury, DeMorato hit .400 on the year and turned in a fielding percentage of .998 as a catcher.

The addition of Goetz and DeMorato bring Amundson’s 2018 recruiting class total to eight, joining Logan Braundmeier, Macey Hale, Sierra Gilmore, Jensen Striegel, Olivia Suski and Danielle Walls, who signed in February.
