First-year head coach Mike Sanford and two of Louisville’s finest, senior offensive tackle Matt Nord (DeSales) and senior defensive back Joe Brown (Butler), are set for WKU’s annual Louisville Media Tour and Kickoff event beginning Thursday morning.

Through the day on Thursday, Sanford and his two senior Hilltoppers will visit with media from across the city, beginning with WDRB News in the Morning during the 8 a.m. ET hour before heading to Great Day Live on WHAS during the 9 a.m. ET hour. Stops with ESPN Radio at 10:45 a.m. ET, WLKY, the Courier-Journal, WAVE, and Spectrum Sports will follow.

All of the stops lead up to the fourth annual Louisville Kickoff at 6 p.m. ET, hosted this year by WKU’s Greater Louisville Alumni Chapter, at Buffalo Wild Wings in St. Matthews (4600 Shelbyville Rd.).

Sanford and members of WKU’s team from the Louisville area will be on-hand to celebrate the new seasons with plenty of prizes and giveaways, including two changes to win a pair of season tickets for the 2017 season.

The Hilltoppers open fall camp on Monday, July 31, for the first time under Sanford and have been projected as the favorites in Conference USA’s East Division with 20 of a possible 28 first place votes in the preseason poll. Senior quarterback Mike White was voted the league’s preseason Offensive Player of the Year, senior return specialist Kylen Towner the preseason Special Team’s Player of the Year, and a league-high seven Hilltoppers were named to the preseason All-Conference team.

WKU opens the season on Sept. 2, under the lights at 6 p.m. CT, against Eastern Kentucky inside Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium.
