Thomas More College had four student-athletes honored by the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) office on Tuesday.

Sophomore kicker Cole Mathias (Reynoldsburg, Ohio/Reynoldsburg) was named the PAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week. Mathias drilled field goals from 28 and 24 yards, respectively, and connected on five-of-six extra point attempts in Saturday’s 47-37 season-opening victory over Franklin. He also averaged 33.7 yards on three punts, dropping a pair inside the Grizzlies’ 20-yard line.

Junior Sara Jackie (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart Academy) was named the PAC Women’s Golf Player of the Week. Jackie helped lead the Saints to a fourth-place finish last week at the Stateline Shootout in Harrison, Ohio. She finished second individually with a 175 (86-89).

Senior Carter Hibbard (Florence, Ky./Boone County) was named the PAC Men’s Golf Player of the Week. Hibbard led Thomas More at the Karl Powers Individual Invitational in Harrison, Ohio last weekend, finishing second in the field after carding a 223 (79-70-74).

First-year Nick Drake (Bowling Green, Ky./South Warren) was named the PAC Men’s Golf Rookie of the Week. Drake finished seventh at last weekend’s Karl Powers Individual Invitational in Harrison, Ohio after carding a 239 (84-78-77) during the three-round, two-day event.

The football team returns to action on Saturday (September 9) when it hosts Bridgewater (Va.) College at 1 p.m., the women’s golf team is idle until September 16 when it competes at the Heidelberg University Invitational and the men’s golf team competes at the Battle at the Brook in Sandusky, Ohio on Saturday and Sunday (September 9-10).
