The Northern Kentucky women’s golf team will open up its 2017-18 season with the one-day, 36-hole Losantiville Challenge on Tuesday, Sept. 5. Local rival Cincinnati is hosting the event at the Losantiville Country Club.
All nine Norse on the roster are set to compete in the event, led by senior Shelby Power and junior Macy Wright. Joining the duo is senior Mimi Cheepborisut, sophomores Erin Durstock, Kylie Lysack, Amy Pugliano and Kelsey Wessels, and freshmen Kathryn Doss and Lilian Young.
Power, Wright Lead Norse Into Season
After graduating five seniors last year, including a trio who were members of NKU’s Horizon League Champion third-place finishing team, the Norse look to Power and Wright guide a young team that features six golfers that are sophomores or freshman. Wright and Power had the Norse within reach of the league championship with just a few holes to play last season.
