The University of Louisville’s men’s tennis team will send four players to compete in the Duke James Bonk Invite this weekend. The tournament will take place Friday through Sunday and will be held at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.

“We are excited to be playing our second great tournament in a row,” said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. “The Duke Invitational is an elite event with nationally-ranked players and top talent for the Southeast part of the country. We afford our team a super fall schedule.”

In the first round of the ‘A1’ singles division, junior George Hedley will open the tournament against Duke’s No. 1 seeded Spencer Furman, while fellow junior Brandon Lancaster will meet the No. 2 seed Simon Soendgegaard of North Carolina. Sophomore Clement Filho will take on Igor Saveljic of North Carolina State in the opening round of the ‘A2’ singles, while third-seeded senior Ciro Lampasas will square off against Auburn’s Alex Masicioli in his ‘B’ division first round match.

In doubles, Lancaster will team up with Hedley, drawing Igor and Ivan Saveljic from North Carolina State in the first round of the ‘A2’ doubles. In the ‘B’ first round doubles matches, top-seeded Filho and Lampasas will take on North Carolina’s Kavir Kumar and Ladd Harrison.

First round matches for the doubles competition are slated to begin on Friday at 9 a.m. The opening rounds of the singles matches will begin tentatively at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Finals matches for both singles and doubles are scheduled to take place on Sunday.
